“Severance Season 2” Adds New Actors From The Walking Dead And Game Of Thrones

The already-famous show has expanded its cast. In time for Severance season 2’s comeback to Apple TV+, several new cast members will be introduced.

Gwendoline Christie, a Game of Thrones fan favorite who most recently starred as Lucifer in Netflix’s Sandman and will soon make an appearance on Wednesday, is one of eight new actors joining the chilling work/life balance horror story, according to Apple.

Along with Bob Balaban, Robby Benson, Stefano Carannate, and Olafur Darri Olafsson, other actors who have committed to Severance’s second season include Merritt Wever from The Walking Dead, Alia Shawkat from Big Mouth, and John Noble from Fringe.

One of Severance’s executive producers, Ben Stiller, remarked, “We are happy and glad to be back for the thrilling second chapter.”

“We are told that people like the show, and even though we are unsure of our exact location or how long we have been gone, we couldn’t be happier. Kudos to Kier!”

The majority of the Severance season one cast, including Christopher Walken, Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, John Turturro, Patricia Arquette, and Patricia Arquette, is also expected to return.

In a tweet, Apple and Scott both confirmed that Severance season 2 filming has begun, with Scott adding: “Can’t wait for everyone to see what we’re doing in S2.” Many fans were perplexed by the dramatic cliffhanger in the Severance season one finale, which concluded on the “overtime contingency.”

Severance was formally approved for season two just before the season one finale was made public, and the program quickly gained a cult following among viewers.

“It’s incredibly amazing to see the feedback from individuals who are adoring the show — and the level of fan participation,” Stiller said in response to the praise.

Severance season 2 is yet to begin filming, so there haven’t been any clues about what to anticipate from it other than a quick preview during a marketing video at a recent Apple event, which most people saw as nothing more than an Easter egg.

‘Severance’ Season 2 Adds New Cast Members

Severance, an Apple television series, is currently in its second season and has since welcomed eight new cast members.

Gwendoline Christie from “Game of Thrones,” Alia Shawkat from “Arrested Development,” Bob Balaban from “The French Dispatch,” Merrit Wever from “Godless,” Robby Benson from “Beauty and the Beast,” Stefano Carannante from “Mirabilia,” John Noble from “The Lord of the Rings,” and Lafur Darri Larsson are among the new additions (The Tourist).

The sci-fi thriller with a dismal perspective on work-life balance has started principal photography. Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus, and Christopher Walken from Severance’s second season will be joined by the new cast.

The show centers on a group of tech workers who toil away in a shadowy division of their firm, their thoughts divided between work and personal affairs. Tensions rise against the company holding them captive as their outside lives appreciate all that life has to offer and their work lives yearn for memories and lives outside the office.

Severance Season 2 Substantially Grows Its Cast

With successes like Ted Lasso and Severance, Apple TV+ has steadily evolved into a competitor to other streaming services. Because of its original premise, likable characters, and gripping narrative that was both amusing and intense, it became so popular with both viewers and critics.

In addition to its 14 nominations, it earned recognition with two Emmy awards. Dan Erickson, who wrote and executive produced the series, created it. Seven of the ten episodes were directed by Ben Stiller, who also executive-produced the show. Aoife McArdle was in charge of directing the other episodes.

Severance season 2 doesn’t yet have a release date. You can watch the first season on Apple TV+ as a filler or see what all the hype was about earlier this year.
