Drake and 21 Savage’s new song “Major Distribution” features a Texas shoutout, however they left off in San Antonio. Due to Drake’s longtime producer Noah “40” Shebib contracting COVID-19 while mixing and mastering the 16-track LP, the release of their collaborative album, Her Loss, was pushed back a week, to this past Thursday, November 3.

One track on the album, titled “Major Distribution,” features them both bragging about their album’s popularity and sales. Drake brags about his wealth and fame in the first stanza of his song “Out of Spite.” He also notes that a business office is necessary in some locations.

He continues by describing his “passion” for Houston, Dallas, and Austin, three of the state’s most populous urban centres. However, San Antonio was overlooked.

Sigh A Texas Drake Shout-Out Fails To Include San Antonio

Tweet from Nick (@nniiiccck) – November 4, 2022, Those who follow me on Twitter quickly caught on to that. In response to Drake’s declaration that he loves Dallas, Houston, and Austin but ignores San Antonio, Finito tweeted, “I like the new drake/21 album but drake stated he’s in love with Dallas, Houston, and Austin but left out San Antonio so 0/10.”

“Sigh San Antonio gets left out of the Texas Drake shout out,” Nick wrote. “no mention of San Antonio, I see,” tweeted Bert Santibaez. “forgotten about again.”Before, Drake didn’t even mention San Antonio.

The renowned rapper and the NBA announced their collaborative clothing and merchandising collection in September 2021, but only six “iconic World Champion franchises” were included, the Spurs were not one of them.

San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, who is a Spurs supporter, tweeted that he had banned Drake because of the rejection. Drake, on the other hand, is partial to the Alamo City (at least the women anyway). The Champagne Papi mentioned the Alamo City in his September 2021 album Certified Lover Boy.

A sampled voice asks, “What’s up to all the ladies in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Marshall, Prairie View?” to launch the song “TSU.” Considering that it was inspired by Texas Southern University, the song is more of a tribute to Houston.

He also mentioned the city of San Antonio in his 2015 song “Jumpman.” Drake referred to Manu Ginobli, a Spurs great, and his legendary left-handed shot.
