The online streaming service Netflix has decided to take an anthology approach with its original series “Monster,” and has ordered two extra seasons of the show. The second season of “The Watcher” has also been ordered by Netflix.
Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan are responsible for the creation of both series. The first episode of “The Watcher” aired on October 13, while “Monster” premiered on September 21. The first season of the television show “Monster” was based on the life and crimes of the notorious serial murderer Jeffrey Dahmer and was given the official title “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.”
According to Netflix, each of the two new episodes will concentrate on “other horrible people that have had an impact on society.” The movie “Monster” was such a huge hit that it debuted at number one on the streaming charts compiled by both Netflix and Nielsen.
In addition to that, it remained at the top of the Nielsen rating chart for three consecutive weeks. It is the second most popular English television season in Netflix’s history, according to the streaming service. According to Bela Bajaria, head of worldwide TV for Netflix, “Monster” and “The Watcher” have audiences transfixed to the point where they can’t look away.

“The creative team of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan on ‘Monster,’ along with Eric Newman on ‘The Watcher,’ are superb storytellers who captured audiences all over the world with their work. Because of Ryan’s distinct and original voice, both of these series have become cultural phenomena, and we are ecstatic to be able to continue writing stories in the worlds of “Monster” and “Watcher.”
In the film “Monster,” Evan Peters played the role of Jeffrey Dahmer, and the cast also included Molly Ringwald, Michael Learned, Niecy Nash, and Richard Jenkins. Along with Peters, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Evan Peters, and Janet Mock, Ryan Murphy and Kate Brennan served as executive producers for the show.
The pilot was directed by Carl Franklin, and he also served as an executive producer. Consulting producer duties were handled by Color of Change member Rashad Robinson.
