We’re big fans of God of War Ragnarok here at Lee Daily since we gave the sequel the highest score possible, but we’re also open to hearing different points of view.
Even though most of the media seemed to agree with us about Santa Monica Studio’s release, one reviewer for IGN Korea thought the game didn’t live up to its potential.
Bae Sang Hyun gave the game a score of 6/10 in his review, in which he criticized the game’s father-son storyline and compared the sequel to DLC.
But because the review was written in a different language, some of the context was lost. Since then, the translated Open Critic synopsis has been changed to better reflect what the author meant.

Even though this is true, some people are still attacking the reviewer on social media. Bae Sang Hyun showed off one of the messages he had gotten, which talked about his country, appearance, and skills.

In the end, a death threat was made. Bae Sang Hyun said, “Please don’t do this.” “It’s so heartbreaking. I can’t do anything else. I ask you politely, please, just enjoy your game.”
We read a machine-translated version of the IGN Korea review. Even though we don’t agree with the author, it’s interesting to see a different point of view.
A God of War Ragnarok reviewer has received a death threat and racist message after saying that it plays “more like LDC to the game as opposed to a full-blown sequel”.

Still, the game has one of the best Metacritic scores of any game released this year, and it will sell many millions of copies. There’s really no reason to act like this at all.
