AMC Theaters Has Partnered With Zoom to provide its patrons with the opportunity to participate in video chats without having to leave the convenience of their neighbourhood multiplex.
According to a press release, beginning at some point in 2023, at least 17 AMC theatres located around the United States will collaborate with Zoom to make it easier for “small, medium, and large-sized groups in different places” to participate in conference calls.
It’s AMC’s most recent strange attempt to grow its business in areas other than box office revenue, which comes at a time when the movie theatre industry is still struggling to recover from the effects of COVID.
After avoiding bankruptcy and coming to terms with its status as a meme stock in the previous year, AMC made an investment in a gold and silver mining company based in Nevada and announced plans to sell popcorn in shopping malls around the country.
Customers do not need to purchase a ticket to the movie in order to utilise the so-called Zoom Rooms, which appear to be excellent for anyone who has ever longed to make a business call in surround sound. No, the intention is not to watch “Avatar: The Way of Water” via Zoom with members of one’s extended family who are located in different parts of the country.
Instead, as hybrid work becomes more commonplace in North America, AMC and Zoom hope to enable businesses with decentralised workforces and customer bases to meet for cohesive virtual and in-person events and meeting experiences. This will allow hybrid work to become more commonplace in North America.
Users will be able to book Zoom rooms online at their desired theatre and meeting time once the relationship is officially launched. They will be given a three-hour block of time in which to virtually host their event across various markets at the venues that have been chosen.
AMC and Zoom will be responsible for providing all of the necessary equipment for a fully functional Zoom Rooms experience. It is anticipated that the auditorium sizes will range anywhere from 75 to 150 seats. It is not possible to predict how much the space will cost.

Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC, hailed the union for combining “the amazing experience of Zoom” with “the comfort and state-of-the-art sight and sound technologies of AMC’s modern and centrally placed theatres.”
“During the pandemic, when so many of us were forced to work remotely, one of the lessons learnt was the significance of having a stable and dynamic communications platform,” Aron said in a statement.
“Another thing that we have realised is that despite the fact that we are physically separated from one another, maintaining the capacity to interact face to face is of the utmost significance.”
This AMC connection with Zoom is one of the reasons why I’m so thrilled about it. Zoom is recognised by a significant number of us as an indispensable tool for the management of our businesses. We now have the best of both worlds thanks to this relationship between Zoom and AMC.
“A thoughtful idea has the power to change the world. At @HP we look for people who believe that this is possible.”

We have the fantastic communications platform of Zoom mixed with the comfort, size, scale, and state-of-the-art sight and sound capabilities of AMC’s theatres that are positioned in the centre of the city. This results in the creation of an entirely new product for corporations and event organisers in major cities all over the United States.
According to the statement, additional amenities such as food and beverage choices, possible movie viewings, and specialised concierge-style management of meeting needs will also be available, but these will require an additional fee.
“AMC has an abundance of gorgeous theatres in strategically placed venues in the city after city after city, and each one has enough seating capacity,” Aron added. “This is especially true during the daytime hours on weekdays, which is when the majority of meetings take place.”

“Because of the cutting-edge sight and sound technology that we use, our movie theatres have become one of the most well-liked forms of out-of-home entertainment in the United States. This is largely due to the widespread recognition of our cutting-edge innovations. The addition of Zoom Rooms at AMC broadens our scope because it enables us to compete in the multi-billion dollar industry for corporate and other types of meetings.
Movie theatres with capacities ranging from 75 to 150 seats will be available for online booking by businesses on a block-by-block basis for a period of three hours at a time. The Zoom Rooms at AMC will have the same food and beverage selections as a conventional movie theatre.
“One of the lessons learned during the pandemic when so many of us were forced to work remotely was the significance of a reliable and dynamic communications platform,” said Adam Aron, the chief executive officer of AMC Theatres. “Also, we gained the understanding that despite the fact that we are physically separated from one another, the capacity to be together in person is of the utmost significance at all times.”

The introduction of Zoom Rooms at AMC is anticipated to take place sometime in 2023 throughout 17 major markets in the United States.
Monday, AMC Theaters announced that it had teamed up with Zoom to turn some of its movie theatres into large videoconferencing rooms called Zoom Rooms.
The service is meant to give companies with dispersed workforces and customers a way to bring people from different markets together “for cohesive virtual and in-person events and meetings,” AMC said in a press release.
