After hearing of Kevin Conroy‘s passing, Mark Hamill, who played the Joker opposite Conroy’s Batman, sent a statement of condolence. Warner Bros. Discovery reports that Conroy, 66, died “after a short battle with cancer.” Conroy was most known for portraying the caped crusader since Batman: The Animated Series in the 1990s.
Following the news of his passing, his peers and fans took to social media to pay respect by posting their own personal recollections of the actor as well as images and videos of the late celebrity. As the Joker to Conroy’s Batman, Hamill claimed he’ll “always be his Batman” in a moving remark.

“We hear the opening theme with the strings and the lush colors. It was incredibly dramatic. And I looked at Mark and said, ‘Did you have a clue this is what we were doing?’ He said, ‘No, I’m blown away!’ We both felt we were a part of something really special.”
