Can I Ball Records was Nick’s independent record label he launched in 2005. In 2003, he released his first studio album, simply titled. It peaked at #15 on the US R&B album chart. The first single, “Can I Live,” came out in the summer of 2005.

Nick disbanded Can-I-Ball Records and started N’Credible Entertainment in 2009. Cannon’s Slick Nick, a spoof of Slick Rick, was developed in 2010. A mixtape named “Child of the Corn” was published by him under his character in December 2011. He also released two singles under the character’s name.

Cannon dropped a new song titled “Me Sexy” in July 2013. His latest offering is the tune “Looking for a Dream,” which features the DJ Afrojack. In 2014, he released his second studio album, titled “White People Party Music.”

On November 16, 2016, Cannon dropped his second mixtape, titled “The Gospel of Ike Turn Up: My Side of the Story.” By December of 2019, Nick had already released “The Invitation,” a diss track against Eminem. Later that day, in reaction to a tweet from Eminem, Cannon released a second diss tune.

America’s Got Talent

He took up hosting duties for “America’s Got Talent” from Regis Philbin in 2009. From 2009 till 2016, he presided over the program. He made $70,000 per episode as the host of “America’s Got Talent.” Nick stated that he would not be returning for the 2017 season due to creative issues with NBC management.

After Nick made derogatory remarks about NBC in his Stand Up, Don’t Shoot comedy special on Showtime, the network was already considering terminating him. NBC officials first rejected Cannon’s resignation because he was technically still under contract and might have been sued for breach of contract.

Tyra Banks, however, was chosen to take over as host of “America’s Got Talent” once the decision was made to accept the resignation.
