Taylor Swift is the Biggest Winner in 2022 and Full Winners List for the MTV EMAs

At the yearly ceremony, which was broadcast live on Sunday from Düsseldorf, Germany, Styles, Nicki Minaj, and David Guetta also took home awards. Taylor Swift is the Biggest Winner and received four MTV EMAs, including best artist and best video.

This year’s MTV European Music Awards were dominated by Taylor Swift, who took home four awards, including best video, best artist, best pop, and best long-form video for her 10-minute rendition of All Too Well.

Swift claimed the experience showed her “how producing film [can] be a natural extension of my storytelling, much like music,” noting that the video was the first “film” she had directed.

The 2022 MTV EMAs, which were broadcast live from Dusseldorf, Germany, on Sunday night, also saw many awards given to hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj, French electronic DJ David Guetta, and the Korean boy band Seventeen.

Super Freaky Girl by Nicki Minaj won the award for best song, and she also received the accolade for being the best hip-hop artist. Guetta and American pop singer Bebe Rexha shared the EMAs for the best electronic song and best collaboration for their song “I’m Good” (Blue). Sunday’s concert began with a live performance of the song by Guetta and Rexha, with Guetta DJing from a huge platform and Rexha swinging onto the stage.

Seventeen won the award for the greatest push in addition to the best new act EMA.

With seven nominations, including those for best artist, best song, and best video, British pop musician Harry Styles was in the lead going into the ceremony on Sunday. He had to settle for just one MTV EMA for best song in the end.

Muse, an English band, was named the best rock artist. Matt Bellamy, the lead singer of Muse, dedicated the award and the group’s latest album “to the people of Ukraine” after accepting the distinction. And to the Iranian women. While we rejoice tonight, they are all engaged in freedom fighting.

Together with her partner Taika Waititi, who also directed Thor: Love and Thunder, Rita Ora hosted the EMAs in 2022. The Dusseldorf performance was inspired by its hometown heroes, Kraftwerk, pioneers of electronic music, and it featured a retro digital aesthetic and a stage with a huge robot head.

Highlights of the performances included Muse’s cover of Will of the People, which featured extras head-banging in mirror masks in front of a burning anarchist symbol, and Stormzy’s moving rendition of his ballad Fire Babe, which featured special guest vocalist Debbie and was the rapper’s first time performing the song on television.

Other live performances included Gorillaz feat. Thundercat performed Cracker Island from Dusseldorf’s iconic Tonhalle concert hall, Ava Max sang Million Dollar Baby from a giant diamond, and OneRepublic sang the Top Gun: Maverick theme song I Ain’t Worried (with Tom Cruise providing a special video intro before the song).

The 2022 MTV EMAs had a special visit by actor and “singer” David Hasselhoff, who gave Swift the best artist award. The event benefited a German-based show.

Three Ukrainian activists, Lina Deshvar, Anna Kotova, and Anfisa Yakovina, who have all been working to care for and shelter those impacted by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine since the Russian invasion, received the MTV EMA Generation Change award, chosen in collaboration with the refugee non-profit Choose Love.

The 2022 MTV EMAs were broadcast live on MTV in over 170 countries, as well as on Pluto TV and Comedy Central in Germany, both of which are owned by Paramount. Starting on Monday, the programme will be available worldwide on Pluto TV and Paramount+.
