Jay Leno With Gasoline Burns Sent to Hospital, Currently Recovering

A statement from the hospital where Jay Leno is getting treatment says that he is getting better after getting burned in a gasoline fire.

Aimee Bennett, a spokeswoman for the Grossman Burn Center in Los Angeles, told sources that Leno was in stable condition and being treated for “burns that he received to his face and hands from a gasoline accident in his garage over the weekend.”

“He is in good humour and is touched by all the inquiries into his condition and well wishes,” the statement said. “He wants to let everyone know he is doing well and is in ‘the best burn centre in the United States.’”

We have attempted to contact representatives for Leno in order to get a statement from them. Leno is a big fan of collecting cars. It is said that he was working on one of his cars in his garage when it caught fire.

“I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet,” the former “The Tonight Show” host told Variety.

According to a report by People, which cited organizers of the event, Leno, who is 72 years old, canceled his attendance at The Financial Brand Forum conference that was scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on Sunday.

“His family was not able to provide us very many details, but there was a very serious medical emergency that is preventing Jay from travelling,” an email to conference attendees and obtained by the publication stated. “All we know is that he is alive, so our prayers go out to him and his family tonight.”

Leno was scheduled to give a special performance on the opening night of the conference exclusively for attendees who had purchased a gold pass for the event.
