Christina Applegate’s First Public Appearance After MS Diagnosis: “I Love You”

It was notable as Christina Applegate, an Emmy winner, made her first public appearance after revealing her MS diagnosis in the spring of 2021 during her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Monday, November 14.

Applegate’s star on the Walk of Fame was scheduled to be unveiled in 2020, but the pandemic pushed back the celebration. In 2021, while filming the third and final season of her Netflix sitcom “Dead to Me,” she took to Twitter to reveal her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.

Applegate’s “Married…with Children” co-stars Katey Sagal and David Faustino congratulated her before her appearance at the Walk of Fame event. A tearful Sagal comforted Applegate by saying, “You’re not alone. Everyone’s here.

Linda Cardellini, who co-starred with Applegate in “Dead to Me,” and Liz Feldman, the show’s writer, were also present to honour Applegate. Sagal helped Applegate to the microphone during the Walk of Fame ceremony, and she remained on stage with her while she gave her acceptance speech.

Applegate wept as she spoke about her daughter and expressed gratitude for her help during her struggle with multiple sclerosis. Applegate once declared, “My daughter is the most significant person in the world.” “You are more than you give yourself credit for.

I admire everything about you; your beauty, kindness, intelligence, and charismatic personality. It’s a blessing to get up and drive you to school every day. I appreciate your support and friendship through this difficult time.

Applegate referred to her adoring fans in the room as “beautiful” and said, “Each and every one of you. I adore each and every one of you. Applegate told Variety that filming the final season of “Dead to Me” while dealing with multiple sclerosis was “rough as you would possibly expect it would be.”

The actor arrived on set using a wheelchair due to a physical disability. I was diagnosed while we were working,” Applegate added. In order to tell everyone, “I have MS guys,” I had to make a lot of phone calls. And I’m like, ‘What the fuck!

After then, it was a matter of discovering, collectively, what I was ultimately capable of achieving. Season 3 of “Dead to Me” premieres on Netflix on November 17; it is Applegate’s first new production since her MS declaration.

The show’s premiere, along with Applegate’s first public appearances, will feature the premiere of “Dead to Me” on November 15. “People are going to see me for the first time as a crippled person, and it’s really painful,” Applegate told Variety.

A viral tweet released by Applegate last month hinted at her upcoming public appearances. The actress displayed photos of potential walking canes for use on award show red carpets. Applegate tweeted at the time, “This will be my first time out since diagnosed with MS.”

The use of canes and crutches is now routine for me. These are beautiful; please thank @neowalksticks for me. Watch to find out which ones are chosen for a week’s worth of things! In the clip below, you can see Applegate‘s whole Walk of Fame induction.
