Where Can I Watch the Streaming Version of “Nope” And When?

In case you were searching for a place to watch Nope online, you’ve found it. The film is fantastic, and I can’t wait for it to become available on a streaming service this week (I even own it on 4K Blu-ray). The third film from Jordan Peele is now available in a more convenient format for those who were hesitant to pay the low price of $5.99 (opens a new tab) on Amazon.

Because I have such a deep and abiding affection for Nope, I shall proceed to write about it with the same caution one should exercise before watching it online to avoid spoilers.

In Nope, Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out) plays Otis Jr. (aka OJ), who runs Haywood Hollywood Horses with the help of his sister Emerald (Keke Palmer), who goes by “Em.” That’s all you need to know about the plot.

The Haywood kids, who inherited the family business from their dad’s passing, are struggling financially and have resorted to renting horses to Ricky “Jupe” Park, proprietor of a nearby amusement park (Steven Yeun).

Things take a turn for the bizarre not too far into the story. What in the world? Just say “nope!” and get the hell out of there. We have all the information you need to watch Nope online, even if you don’t live in a country where the streaming service it’s coming to is accessible.

The US Streaming Strategy For Nope

Starting this Friday, November 18 at 3 am ET/midnight PT, Nope will air on Peacock in the United States.

Where Can I find Nope to Stream In Canada, The UK, Or Australia?

Consequently, while Peacock is expanding internationally with editions in Canada and the United Kingdom, it is not yet known if Nope will be available on Peacock in those countries. If/when we get more information, we will share it here.

However, Peacock is completely unavailable in Australia. If you’re outside the United States but still want to access your Peacock account and watch Halloween Ends online, you can do so by using a virtual private network (VPN) service like ExpressVPN (opens in a new tab) to make it look like you’re back home.

Nope Reviews: What The Critics Think

The opinions on Nope are positive but not unanimous; the movie currently has an 83% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Charles Pulliam-Moore of The Verge(opens in new tab) is spot-on when he says, “there’s a majesty to Nope’s sweeping shots of the California desert that feels reflective of evolution as a filmmaker.”

I saw Nope, and I agree with Pulliam-assessment. Moore’s Even though Owen Gleiberman’s Variety(opens in new tab) review contains numerous spoilers, I disagree with his assessment that “the anticipation works better than the payoff.”

The fact that Nope’s third act is a breathtaking example of cinematic storytelling that had me on the edge of my seat and giddy is the strongest argument against it. On the other hand, if you’re hoping for a comprehensive breakdown of the film’s concepts, you might be disappointed.

Leah Greenblatt, writing for Entertainment Weekly(opens in new tab), is spot-on when she says, “[Keke] Palmer’s Emerald is loose and funny and kinetically alive, the kind of final-girl hero most scary movies only feint at creating, and Kaluuya remains one of the most fascinatingly interior actors to watch on screen.”

Nope Trailer

Only the above trailer for Nope should be watched. Sorry if my thoughts come a little late, but the other trailers reveal way too much. If you want a sneak peek at Keke Palmer’s Emerald and Daniel Kaluuya’s OJ without any of the spoilers that the other trailers offer, this is it. Oh, and please don’t freeze frame this trailer in any way. That leads to no positive outcomes.
