Adele started her long-awaited Vegas residency on Friday night, and her nerves were all part of the show. After her dates were rescheduled with only one day’s notice in January, it was impossible to ignore the high stakes, even in a town where huge bets are the norm.
She said, “I’m so nervous, so scared, and so happy.” “It might be a bit wobbly at times because my nerves are out of control … it’s a bloody massive week for me this week. It’s the Walking Dead finale on Sunday! ” In an Instagram post on Thursday night, she wrote that she had “never been more nervous before a show”.
“Thank you so much for coming back to me,” she said to an audience of more than 4,000 which included her son Angelo. “It looks just like I imagined it would.”
And as reviews come in, it all seems to have been worth it. The 34-year-old singer thought the show at the Colosseum in the Caesars Palace hotel was “just perfect” because the crowd stood up at both ends of her performance.

Katie Atkinson of Billboard called the show “completely and breathlessly spectacular,” and Melissa Riggieri of USA Today said the atmosphere was “rude, emotional, and completely unscripted.” During the show, Adele shot a T-shirt cannon into the crowd and told the people there that it contained “a signed T-shirt, a handwritten note, and $50.”

The much-anticipated residency was supposed to start at the beginning of the year, but Adele cancelled at the last minute because she wasn’t happy. She said the decision was “horrible,” but she later said it was because of problems with the visuals. “The stage setup wasn’t right,” she said to Elle magazine. “It was very disconnected from me and my band, and it lacked intimacy.”
Adele started the night with her 2015 hit “Hello.” She told Oprah that this would probably be the case “always” because “it would be a bit weird if it was halfway through a set.” Adele then sang songs like “Easy On Me,” “Rolling in the Deep,” “Hometown Glory,” “I Drink Wine,” and “Skyfall,” which she performed with a 24-piece string section and lots of special effects. She also sang Set Fire to the Rain with a waterfall and a piano that was on fire.

While singing her nostalgic 2015 song “When We Were Young,” she walked into the crowd to talk to people about their favourite childhood memories before hugging her boyfriend, sports agent Rich Paul.
She talked about the many rumours that had been going around since January on stage. “I’d really like to thank Caesars because there has been a lot of shit written about me since I cancelled my shows,” she said. “I tell you 90% of it is absolutely completely made up – there’s been rumours that I’m moving hotels and I’m moving theatres and all this and never once did they ask [me] any questions.”
i couldn’t care less about pathetic stan behavior on twitter, i’ll always love and adore adele. most of all, she’s hive herself and nothing could ever change that. there’s always the mute and block button for people who thrive in negativity. pic.twitter.com/uSbuo8LhOT

Jamie Mizrahi, a stylist for famous people, said that Adele would wear a different dress every weekend to stay “authentic.” She also told the Wall Street Journal that Adele would be performing without shoes, so each dress had to go all the way to the floor. “We’re open to embellishment and accents of colour, but everything will be a black gown to the floor, except special shows, like New Year’s Eve,” she said.
Adele’s residency will last until March 2023, and official tickets are sold out on Ticketmaster. Now, only resellers are selling tickets for up to $45,000 each. She does what Céline Dion, Cher, Madonna, and Elton John did.
“I have no idea what I’m embarking on for five months, but I can’t fucking wait,” she said. “So thank you for being my first night.” Adele was also nominated for seven Grammys this week. Beyoncé and Harry Styles will be competing with her for record and album of the year.
After the residency is over, the singer will reportedly take a break from music to work on an online degree in English literature. Follow us only on Lee Daily for more news like this.
