Loving Adults on Netflix is a very good psychological crime thriller…so dark and incredibly twisty. Highly recommended for fans of Nordic Noir

Loving Adults premise
Based on the novel by Anna Ekberg, Loving Adults is a suspenseful thriller with lots of unexpected turns. Christian and Leonora, a picture-perfect couple, are enjoying life to the fullest now that their baby son has recovered from a severe illness. At a work event, Leonora discovers that not everything is as it seems when she spots her husband with a younger lady. Despite being certain that her husband is leaving her, Leonora makes a catastrophic choice to ensure she stays.
What we think of the premise
You cannot argue that this is not an old tale that has been rehashed. Thus the success of the premise depends on how it is carried out. The fact that the movie is based on a book means there will be plenty of sources to draw on. From what we have seen, the film seems to be a dark, gritty crime drama, and we are reminded of Fatal Attraction. There don’t seem to be many laughs here, so as far as this kind of movie goes, it looks like it will be a hit for fans who appreciate this kind of thing. Some overt themes seem to be jealousy, betrayal, and obsession.
Loving Adults plot
The plot of Loving Adult centers on a married couple whose union begins to deteriorate due to the husband’s infidelity. To be more specific, the film isn’t your usual tale of love triumphing over the loss. It can change at any time. The perfect married pair Christian and Leonora, who have just overcome a significant issue, are the story’s protagonists.

Their son has recovered from a terrible illness. Until Leonora discovers her husband is having an extramarital affair at a party, everything is in order, and life is lovely. The woman is leaner, younger, and more attractive. Leonard is left to question if this woman is worth ending their marriage for. The union that endured so much but remained static?
As the narrative progresses, Leonora understands Christian’s true selfishness in cheating on her after she leaves her career behind to make their marriage work. She gave the marriage her complete attention out of love for Christian and her son. Leonara reaches a decision and decides that whatever it takes to keep Christian in this marriage, she does not have to put up with anything that Christian throws at her.

Loving Adults: Stream It Or Skip It?
A Swampy Bottom Everything down here is lilypads, sludge, and, I don’t know, alligator cloacas. We’ll travel for a while, but ultimately we’ll return with all the frog feces. Leonora (Sonja Richter) is most likely nearby as she zips up her red running hood. There is thunder. You know what happens when someone goes for a run on a dark, stormy night; it’s about to be one of those.
“Almost all murders are about love,” adds the narrator. Holger is him (Mikael Birkkjaer). He is telling his daughter (Katinka Petersen) about a police case he was involved in while they were in a tea garden. Of course, murder is disguised as a hit-and-run. A white van has Christian (Dar Salim) seated behind the wheel. It starts the car’s engine. Leonora is being directly overtaken while she jogs on a dark, rainy road. One does not typically treat one’s wife in this way.

Rewind a few days and start there. Leonora and Christian argue. It’s midnight right now. She wants to know the who, what, and why when he received a text message that woke them up. They haven’t been getting along all that well lately. She was a young violin prodigy who gave up everything—her profession, her friends—to care for their ill kid Johan (Milo Campanale) for many years.
He runs a construction company. He is now 18 years old, almost finished college, and finally recovering, using just one crutch to walk. Leonora’s assumptions were correct. Christian has been telling Xenia (Sus Wilkins), the architect of his current work project, that he is divorcing Leonora so they can be together permanently. However, you better know better about making such assumptions by now. In the meantime, Leonora fights with a gas station clerk about the car wash, which requires a card she must pay to load with an even number of credits despite the wash costing an odd amount.

Leonora must be a brilliant math student since she begins to connect the dots between her husband and Xenia. It’s confirmed by a little Facebook stalking and poking about at his workplace cocktail party when she witnesses him engaging in some of his probings. I swear I’m not blabbing too much because the plot becomes too meaty to summarise until we reach the narrative hook, which we saw in the opening moments. Leonora confronts Christian nonetheless.
It appears that he had been falsifying the books at work. If he divorces her, that’s fine; she’ll report him, and he can take advantage of the infrequent romantic rendezvous with Xenia. As Holger’s daughter listens intently, Christian now has what a cop like Holger would call “motivation” to crush his wife under the van tires.
