4. The Saddest Backstory: Yui (Yomawari: Midnight Shadows)
Yui is quite a lively personality but her sad backstory will make you cry. Haru is her best friend and in Midnight Shadows, both Haru and Yui keep searching for each other in the town. Both of them are separated after they were enjoying the fireworks show. Later Yui gave up on her life and killed herself when her loving dog died. But she remembers nothing of this sort and has no clue that she turned into a spirit. It is definitely an empathetic character who still cares for Haru and the dogs.
3. Sacrifices Had To Be Made: Haru (Yomawari: Midnight Shadows)
Haru is also the protagonist of the show along with Yui in the Midnight Shadows. She searches for Yui and keeps looking in different parts of the town. Haru is quite a reserved personality but she leaves no stone unturned to search for her best friend. 2. Break The Curse: Yuzu (Yomawari: Lost in The Dark)
The protagonist is a young girl having a curse that could be broken if only she could visit different parts of the town to unlock the items that will recover her lost memories. She is a visionary character who focuses on her goal and despite coming in close contact with many spirits, she escapes every time. Finally, she finds confidence and breaks the curse.

Known as Kotomo as seen in the Midnight Shadows novelization, she is yet another young girl who will be roaming in a town filled with spirit. Her main motto is to find the dog along with her sister. She will also bargain with the Mountain Spirit and at last, manages to escape along with her sister.
