NFL Thanksgiving games have grown to be among the most anticipated occasions not just in sports but in all of entertainment.
It seems natural that A-list artists would participate in the activity. It is well known that NFL games, especially those on the November holiday, get some of the highest viewership numbers on television. The NFL’s Thanksgiving halftime performances this year are no different.
Who Will Perform at the Thanksgiving Halftime Show for the Detroit Lions?
The 83rd edition of the Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Classic will feature some of the game’s top players. The Thanksgiving Halftime Show, sponsored by Verizon for the team, will feature performances from singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha and DJ David Guetta.
Who Are David Guetta and Bebe Rexha?
Rexha rose to fame in entertainment by writing successful songs for some of the most recognized musicians, such as Rhianna, Selena Gomez, and Nick Jonas. After collaborating with artists like Florida Georgia Line on the smash hit “Meant to Be” and releasing her debut studio album Expectations, she became well-known as a performer in her own right.
A record-breaking 50 weeks at the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart were spent by “Meant to Be,” which also earned the diamond certification for selling more than 10 million copies. Additionally, it was nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
One of the best DJs in the world is Guetta. He has received three votes for best DJ in the DJ Mag Top 100 Poll. The Frenchman’s music catalog reportedly sold for around $100 million to Warner Music, and he has won two Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, and a Billboard Music Award. The songs “Where Them Girls At,” “Titanium,” and “Without You” are some of Guetta’s biggest hits.
At 12:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, November 24, Ford Field will play host to the Detroit Lions and the Buffalo Bills.
Who Will Perform at the Thanksgiving Halftime Show for the Dallas Cowboys?
Thanksgiving halftime performances featuring the Dallas Cowboys have been a tradition for more than 25 years. And right now, the group is performing with a repeat act as the lead act for the first time. One of the most well-known pop bands in the world, The Jonas Brothers, will perform live for the enthusiastic AT&T Stadium crowd.
The program will support The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign and air on national television. The Red Kittle Kickoff is a celebration of the 132nd year of the campaign.
“We couldn’t be more excited to return to AT&T Stadium and play The Salvation Army halftime show,” Jonas Brothers said. “We are honored that our performance will help raise awareness of the great need and encourage everyone to donate to The Salvation Army to make a difference in their communities this holiday season and all year long.”
On Thursday, November 24, at 4:30 p.m. ET, the Cowboys will play the division rival New York Giants.
Who Are the Jonas Brothers?
The Jonas Brothers’ ascent to fame on Disney Channel in the early 2000s began when Kevin, Joe, and Nick, a trio from New Jersey, appeared in the network’s Camp Rock film.
They were a contender for Best New Artist at the 2008 Grammy Awards. After a six-year break to pursue solo projects, they came back together in 2019 and released “Sucker,” possibly their biggest hit.
Their 2019 album Happiness Begins peaked at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200, and “Sucker” was the number-one song on the Billboard Hot 100. The group has five studio albums under their belt since 2005, and they recently wrapped up a three-night residency at the Park MGM in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It’s a well-known fact that NFL games, especially those on the November holiday, get some of the most viewers on TV, so it makes sense that A-list celebrities would join in on the fun. The NFL Thanksgiving halftime shows this year are the same as always.
