Michael Jordan is known as the best player in NBA history. While that is a big deal on the court, his actions off the court have always been a little strange. This was especially true when he was with Juanita Vanoy, the first woman he married and lived with for 17 years.
In 1985, Juanita and Jordan met at a Bennigans after a Chicago Bulls game. Sparks flew almost right away and in just two years, Michael got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. They would get married in Las Vegas in 1989 if she said yes.
However, in 2002, after being married for 12–13 years, Juanita ‘unexpectedly’ filed for divorce from the Wizards player. For a long time, no one knew what the real reason was. But when certain facts came out, they helped everyone understand why she did something so drastic.

Juanita Vanoy Paid a Private Detective to Keep an Eye on Michael Jordan
Private investigator Eddie Rizzo followed Michael Jordan for four years, going back and forth from Chicago to Florida while he was in and out of the NBA. Rizzo’s research showed that he was in relationships with at least six women and other sources say that the number could be as high as twelve.
This is why Juanita filed for divorce in 2002, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Even though her husband was constantly in the news for cheating scandals and rumors, she actually pulled her petition.
Instead, she spent another four years with Michael. They would say they were breaking up for good in December 2006 and it would be over within a few months.
Michael Jordan Would Eventually Fall in Love Again
Michael Jordan found love again with Cuban model Yvette Prieto after he broke up with Juanita Vanoy. When he saw her in a Miami club, he knew he had to talk to her. In a few years, they got married and now have two girls, Ysabel and Victoria, who are twins.
