Does Donnie Wahlberg want to take a break from Blue Bloods to focus on other projects? If people have questions now, that’s fine with us. Consider, for example, the following claim from Deadline, which states that the actor/singer is working on two new projects as part of his arrangement with CBS Studios.
Samaritan– Author Steven Kane, who has been writing for quite some time, has contributed to this one (Halo). Based on the tagline, here’s what you may expect: A teenage con artist partners up with an old investigator after finding a “glitch” in an app that alerts her to crimes and situations before they happen. (Does anybody else get a vibe of a cross between Minority Report and Person of Interest?)
Harbor Blue– Meanwhile, NCIS’s Chad Gomez Creasey is helping Wahlberg out. A group of “adrenaline junkies” constitute the NYPD Harbor Unit in this show, and their job is to “secure and police the 576 miles of dangerous coastline surrounding all five boroughs, administering justice to criminals on and off the water.”
How Does This Affect Blue Bloods?
Not a single thing. Donnie, like a lot of other performers, can star in and serve as executive producer for the long-running police drama. (Neither of these new shows is guaranteed a slot on any network’s lineup.) Another great examples are NCIS: Los Angeles’ Eric Christian Olsen, who has produced multiple projects and has an overall deal with the company.
We think this is the kind of thing that can draw more attention to the existing show, and it’s wonderful for Wahlberg in general because it helps him solidify his brand on the network. On Friday night, you’ll get to watch Donnie in his role as Danny Reagan in yet another brand-new episode.
Is it OK that Donnie Wahlberg, in addition to his role on Blue Bloods Season 13, is working on these projects? Use the attached comments to express your thoughts. After that, I encourage you to return frequently, as there are more upcoming changes that won’t want to miss.
Happy #BlueBloods Friday!
Sure hope Danny and Jamie can make peace tonight. Got a feeling we may learn a lot about them. We many need a few tissues too! Must watch.
See ya tonight! ❤️💙😢🤯 https://t.co/8GLMSTCy85
