Clone Force 99 Is Back In Star Wars: The second season of “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” has a new trailer from Disney. The titular rogue troop of skilled and genetically enhanced clones evading the Empire is back in the anime series. The further adventures Hunter, Omega, and the rest of the crew are having as they fight to stay alive as the Galactic Empire widens its sphere of influence are shown in the trailer.
The gang will, as usual, meet up with old friends and make new ones, forge new alliances and deal with fresh challenges. Though fresh adventures are to be expected, the show will also return to specific well-known themes like loyalty as Crosshair continues to challenge anyone who even suggests defying the Empire. And everyone knows what happens to those who oppose the Empire in his presence.
It will be interesting to see the effect of the program on the entire Star Wars narrative. Although we do get to watch a Wookie use the Force to draw a lightsaber toward him, we already know that it is a prequel that doesn’t focus as much on the Jedi and Sith.
Hera and Kanan from “Star Wars Rebels” also appeared in season one. Even Cad Bane and Fennic Shand showed up. As a result, we can anticipate cameos that would link to or even contribute to the mythology’s expansion.
The voices of the Bad Batch and Omega are provided by Emmy Award nominees Dee Bradley Baker (“American Dad!”) and Michelle Ang (“Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462) in “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” season 2.
Rhea Perlman, recipient of an Emmy Award for “The Mindy Project” and “Cheers,” makes a special appearance as Cid. Vice Admiral Rampart is played by Noshir Dalal from “It’s Pony” and “The Owl House,” while Emmy Award winner Wanda Sykes from “The Upshaws” and “Black-ish” makes a guest appearance on the show as Phee Genoa.
Executive producing “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” with Josh Rimes (“Star Wars Resistance,” “Star Wars: Visions”) and Alex Spotswood (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “Star Wars Rebels”) are Dave Filoni (“The Mandalorian,” “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” Athena Portillo (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “Star Wars Rebels”), Brad Rau (“Star Wars Rebels,” “Star Wars Resistance”), Jennifer Corbett (“Star Wars Resistance,” ” Along with Corbett as the chief writer and Matt Michnovetz as the narrative editor, Rau is also acting as the supervising director.
The first two episodes of “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” will premiere on Disney+ on January 4, 2023. There are fifteen episodes in all.
