The Holiday, published in 2006, tells the tale of two ladies who reside on opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean. They temporarily switch residences for the holidays to escape their tumultuous lifestyles. They had no idea that they would fall in love.

The initial budget for the celebrity-studded cast was £70 million. After that, it became a must-see holiday film, grossing more than £200 million. Rumors of a potential sequel reuniting the cast started circulating 16 years after The Holiday’s first release. It’s a shame that this was merely a rumor.
