None of us single people would mind if Santa brought us a perfectly wrapped present in the form of a life partner this holiday season, but life doesn’t always work out that way.
The penultimate film in Hallmark Channel’s “Countdown to Christmas” series follows a dating advice columnist as she realizes that there are occasional exceptions to every rule.
What is ‘Tis the Season To Be Merry about?
Boston-based dating advice blogger Merry (Rachael Leigh Cook) is a recognized authority in her field. However, she has struggled to find love for herself despite the widespread adoption of her dating advice.
In her attempt to write a book on her own romantic experiences, Merry inadvertently adds a made-up character named Dale as her ideal fiance, who is taken at face value by her publisher.
Merry and her best buddy head home to plot how they can tell the truth to their publisher before the book is published and she loses all credibility. Merry unexpectedly bumps into Adam (Travis Van Winkle), the brother of her best friend.
Despite their obvious differences, they find themselves falling in love with one another. They disagree on many things, including what constitutes a healthy relationship between two people.
As Christmas nears, Merry realises she can relax some of her standards for romantic relationships, and Adam finds the emotional space he needs to give love another shot. Taking a bet on her affections for Adam leads Merry to the best possible ending for her novel.
