Part 2 of the decade-spanning historical drama The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem has returned to Netflix. This time around, it’s ten hours long and it’s packed with romantic yearnings, political intrigue, and familial strife. The next set of episodes in the saga of the Ermoza family has been eagerly awaited by fans in the United States.
While the show premiered on Netflix just two months ago, it originally aired in Israel in June of 2021. The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem, adapted from Sarit Yishai-novel Levi’s of the same name, is a family drama set against the backdrop of major historical events that occurred in Palestine during its occupation by the Ottoman Empire and, later, by Great Britain.
You’ve probably read the 10 new chapters in record time, given how long you’ve had to wait for them, and you’re probably wondering what will happen to Luna Ermoza (Swell Ariel Or) and her family after the events of Episode 20. Is Season 2 of The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem in the works? If that’s the case, when can you expect to be able to watch it on Netflix? So far, this is what we know:
When Will The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem Season 2 Premiere on Netflix?
So now we get into the tricky part. Season 2 may premiere in Israel as soon as April 2023 if the production schedule is similar to that of Season 1. The real question is when Netflix will release Season 2 of The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem in the United States.
Season 1 did not become available on Netflix until 11 months after its Israeli premiere, but that may have changed now that Netflix owns the rights to distribute the show internationally. In any case, Netflix has observed empirically that viewers enjoy the show and anticipate its subsequent season with anticipation.
Season 2 (or at least the first half of Season 2) should be added in the lead-up to the show’s Israeli premiere. With this in mind, it’s possible that new episodes of The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem will be available on Netflix in the United States in the spring or summer of 2023. Will There Be a Season 2 of The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem on Netflix?
The second season of Beauty Queen of Jerusalem is in the works, so that’s good news. From the time production began in 2020 at Yes Studios, that was always the intention. So, relax; the story will go on; there’s still plenty of dramatic potential in the books to be exploited in the medium of television.
There has been some confusion about when Season 2 will be shot, but it appears that production may have begun already. Season 2 filming is said to have begun in June 2022, so it’s likely that the next chapters of this story have already been written.
