Days After Iker Casillas Heart Attack, His Wife Claims She Underwent Cancer Surgery

Iker Casillas’s World Cup-winning wife, Sara Carbonero, has disclosed that she had cancer surgery barely three weeks after her husband’s heart attack. Casillas became unwell during a training session with his new club, Porto, after making 167 appearances for Spain and 725 for his home club Real Madrid before leaving in 2015.

The mother of Casillas’ two children, Carbonero, said on Instagram that the ovarian cancer operation went well. She tweeted late Tuesday night, “We hadn’t yet recovered from the scare when life has once again surprised us.”

“This time it was my turn, this six-letter word that I still have trouble writing. A few days ago I had a checkup and the doctors saw a malignant tumor in my ovary that has been operated on Everything has gone very well, luckily we got it with plenty of time, but I still have a number of months of fighting ahead as I go through the required treatment. I know there’s a tough road ahead but I’m sure it will have a happy ending.” After being discharged from the hospital on May 6, her spouse made an untimely statement about his intentions for the future.

Iker Casillas showed the World Cup trophy

The World Cup trophy was introduced to the field at the Lusail stadium in Qatar, where Argentina and France will play in 2022 final, by former Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas. After Spain defeated the Netherlands to win the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the former footballer was responsible for raising the trophy at Soccer City in Johannesburg.

Hugo Lloris replaced him in goal for France’s 4-2 victory against Croatia at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium in Russia 2018, and now he’ll be trying to do it all over again in Lusail. It’s been reported that both Argentina and France are in Qatar seeking their third star. Messi has one last opportunity to win his final championship.
