Jinni, who was a member of NMIXX, has departed the group and its management company, JYP Entertainment. The group will now consist of six members. On Friday (December 9), Soompi reported that Jinni has left the rookie girl group JYP “because of personal reasons,” citing a statement from JYP.
In addition, it stated that “her exclusive contract has been dissolved,” and that going forward, NMIXX would operate as a six-person unit. Lily, Sullyoon, Haewon, Jiwoo, Kyujin, and BAE are the surviving NMIXX members. NMIXX considered Jinni their “center” before she left.
In the statement, NMIXX expressed regret for “causing any fans excessive stress” with “this sudden news,” and they urged their followers to back Jinni in her future endeavors while also showing their support for the other six members of the group.
In January, JYP debuted NMIXX for the first time. Following their announcement in January, the group officially made their debut in February with the single album “Ad Mare,” which contained the title tune “O.O.” and ultimately ranked number 35 on Spotify’s most globally streamed K-pop songs of 2022.

Within months of their debut, the group were already performing abroad as part of the line-up of KCON 2022’s Premiere In Chicago. In September, they made their return with the single album Entwurf, which featured the song “Dice,” and just lately, they released the holiday single “Funky Glitter Christmas.” Additionally, they performed the 2022 MAMAs.
When JYP Entertainment presented its investment report in November, it stated that NMIXX would have two albums out by the beginning of the year 2023. NMIXX had released video teasers for a mysterious project titled “New Frontier” days before that revelation.
