City of Hull is Organizing Free Christmas Events for Kids

During the winter break, parents may choose from a plethora of free events for their children. Thanks to funding from the UK government’s Department for Education and Hull City Council, after a brief hiatus the activity program is back and better than ever, with camps restarting on Monday, December 19th.

Camps for kids ages 8-13 may be booked for free this summer. Free hot lunches and a variety of sports and games including rounders, dancing, gymnastics, and rugby are just some of the perks that make these camps a great option for kids in the weeks leading up to the holidays. From Monday, December 19th, through Friday, December 23rd, camps will be held at Woodford Leisure Centre, Ennerdale Leisure Centre, and Costello Stadium on a variety of days.

Woodford, Ennerdale, and Beverley Road Baths are bringing back their famous free junior swimming programs for kids aged 5-15. All children under the age of eight are required to be accompanied by a paid adult.

Wednesday, December 21, and Wednesday, December 28 from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m., Beverley Road Baths will host fun, float, and splash sessions, perfect for kids aged 5 to 11. Kids go in for free, while adults pay just £1. Come here and make your reservation. On Friday, December 23, Woodford will once again host a free disco diving session for kids aged 8 to 15. This event will include waves and music. Make your reservations at this establishment.

On Tuesday, December 20, and Thursday, December 22, families can enjoy short indoor tennis sessions at Costello Stadium for £1 per adult and free for kids. You may reserve a court at this establishment. On Tuesday, December 20th, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., England Netball will host a free netball camp in Ennerdale. Reservations may be made for this all-inclusive event for kids ages 8 to 12 with food.

Family-friendly Christmas activities, such as a Christmas trail, zoo keeper lectures, and Christmas crafts where kids can make their own Christmas baubles and magical reindeer food, will also be available at the Animal Education Centre. For further details and a schedule, please see the website. Hull Ice Arena is open all winter long, providing public, family, under-seven, and SEN programs for your holiday pleasure. Portfolio Holder for Communities and Culture on the Council, Councillor Rob Pritchard, said, “The Christmas holidays are a great time for families, but we know may be challenging for parents and carers to find cheap activities for children. The present issue of the expense of living simply makes the situation worse. These events provide children and teens with a wide variety of fun and educational options, as well as healthy, economical food options.”

“Wherever you are in Hull, there are activities in your area and there really is something for everyone.” “We look forward to welcoming families from across Hull into our fantastic centres and facilities across the holidays,” said Councillor Alison Collinson, Chair of Hull Culture and Leisure Ltd (HCAL).
