Betty Carol Rainey, Cole Swindell’s mother, died Monday night, and Cole is grieving. Thomas Rhett and Swindell are on tour together. After the funeral last Wednesday, he chose to keep performing since that is what his mother wanted him to do rather than taking some time off. He served Rainey his tune You Should Be Here while performing on stage for the first time since saying “goodbye.”

On Saturday, Cole Swindell performed at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Only three days had passed since his mother’s funeral. However, the vocalist of Aint Worth The Whiskey decided to keep performing. But he didn’t leave the platform until he gave a heartfelt ode to his mother and a spectator recorded the event on camera.

Swindell was permitted to take the weekend off and use Thomas Rhett’s beach house by Thomas Rhett. Swindell claimed he didn’t want to abandon his supporters, who have stood by him “from day one,” nevertheless. Additionally, his mother wouldn’t have preferred for him to be alone.

“My momma,” he said to the crowd. “She wouldn’t want me sitting at home. She would want me on stage in front of a crowd like this. People who care.”

He then urged his followers to light up their phones for “someone who has a better seat than us” and to think of lost loved ones. Everybody in the audience raised their phones to pay respect to a loved one.

“Wow, looks like heaven,” Swindell said. From the podium, he could see that almost everyone had raised their phone in support of a loved one. The audience joined Cole as he began to perform his devastating ballad. Swindell composed the poem in memory of his father, who died suddenly in 2013.

Cole Swindell’s Mother Has Passed Away

Betty Carol Rainey, the mother of Cole Swindell, passed away on September 13th. On Monday night, the musician posted the tragic news to Instagram stories.

Swindell, 38, has discussed his mother and said that she is the one who keeps him “humble.”

“She’s the one that, no matter how stressed out I get, if I wanna be here or wanna be there, she is always the first person to remind me, ‘Come on, Cole. Think about it. You and I would have never thought you’d be where you are now.’ I always say that, but I mean it because it takes someone like her to put it all in perspective,” Swindell told PopCulture.com. 

“This world, this business, keeps you on the ground, always wondering what’s next, instead of thinking about, ‘Look at what we’ve done,'” he added. “She’s always the one that’s the first to remind me, and I can’t thank her enough.”

In 2013, the country singer’s father, William Keith Swindell, died suddenly.

In his tribute, he later published the song “You Should Be Here.”

Country Artist Cole Swindell Announces the Death of His Mother

On September 13th, Cole Swindell revealed in an Instagram story that his mother had passed away. Sadly, Swindell has experienced loss before. Only a couple of years had passed since the father of the 38-year-old country musician, Carol Rainey, passed away tragically.

In the Instagram story, Swindell posted a picture from his plane as he flew over Georgia. “Took this on the flight home to Georgia this afternoon,” he wrote. “I know she’s up there. Going to miss her so much. Love Y’all”

Swindell and his mother shared a tight bond. He also thanked her for making him the successful guy he is today.
