In the last several years, Unfoonk has made a remarkable transition into the music business, signing to YSL and releasing his first official mixtape, My Struggle. Since his release from jail, he has been surrounded by old friends, yet he has nevertheless made an effort to make his own successes.
Unfoonk is largely responsible for Young Thug’s early popularity since he pushed him to start making music. The standout track on YSL’s team effort, Slime Language 2, is “Real,” in which the two rappers discuss the anguish of being separated behind bars.
