The heartbreaking quest for Eve Simon’s birth parents is the focus of the Bounce original Christmas film, which debuted in November during National Adoption Month. Eve receives assistance and encouragement from Pamela Slaton, a well-known investigative genealogist, and her lover Chris, played by Romeo Miller (Juliana Harkavy).
During a virtual interview moderated by comedian Loni Love, JaGurl TV spoke with the cast. Slaton referred to the reason they decided to start this movie by saying, “It was an alignment of the stars.” Working closely with Ms. Slaton, Juliana Harkavy thought she shared many traits with the character.
Pam and I shared similar values as I got to know her better. Both women share the commonality of being quiet and reserved by nature but putting themselves out there in such a significant way to benefit others. “This desire to help people and to help people understand themselves is something I think as an actor I do in my way and Pam does in a much greater, grander way.” the actress said.
Based on some of the real-life experiences of Pamela Slaton, who executive produced this film, the film is engaging and uplifting. It contains traces of a few past instances I’ve worked on. It is mainly based on the grandson of our talented author Elyse Endick. Jaguar TV hears from Slaton.
The press release claims that the real-life Slaton is the nation’s leading authority on reuniting adoptees with their birth parents. Slaton, who was adopted herself, decided to dedicate her life to helping other adoptees after having a difficult personal encounter with her birth mother.
Slaton has helped thousands of adoptees find their relatives throughout her work, including RUN-DMC musician Darryl McDaniels, who makes a cameo appearance as himself in “Who Is Christmas Eve?” As part of the Emmy-Award-winning documentary, “DMC: My Adoption Journey,” she reunited McDaniels with his birth mother. Slaton’s real work has been showcased extensively in television, print media and now a movie.
“In the movie Christmas Eve, you’ll learn that everybody has their journey. Even if you want the best for somebody, you gotta let them go through their journey, and their ups and downs and go through everything they’re supposed to go through,” was beautifully said by Romeo Miller.
