Fans are curious about the game show hosts as they await the September 12, 2022 premiere of Season 40.
Explain The Role Of The Wheel
This version of the popular British game shows The Wheel has been a huge success. Michael McIntyre, who also serves as host, developed and produced the show.
In each hour-long show, we meet six A-listers who are there to cheer on the three candidates and offer advice. One of them will go home as the others fight it out for a chance to win over $100,000.
The participant in the middle spins The Wheel and selects a topic from which they need assistance before receiving advice from a celebrity. The celebrity is chosen at random and the participant has no say in the matter.

Whoever the wheel stops on must assist the contender even if they are not an expert in the given field. If a participant answers a question correctly, they go to the next round, otherwise they are eliminated.
If the other two players make mistakes on the questions, the person who left the game can come back. Only the remaining player gets a shot at the money.
Who Are the Hosts of Wheel of Fortune?
From the show’s inception in 1975 until his retirement in December 1981, Chuck Woolery presided as host. Following a disagreement with showrunner Merv Griffin about his remuneration, he decided to leave the program.
After Woolery left, Pat Sajak took over as host and has been doing so for nearly 40 years now. Sajak has been a part of the company since 1981, and in that time he has been nominated 19 times for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host, winning three times.
Later that year, in 1982, Vanna White became Sajak’s co-host. White has already appeared in over 7,000 episodes of Wheel of Fortune since her initial appearance in the show. White also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in April 2006.
Who is the Announcer on Wheel of Fortune?
In 2011, Jim Thornton took up the role of Wheel of Fortune announcer and became the show’s new voice. Thornton has now gained widespread acclaim as a fixture of the show’s audience.
Thornton has been honored with several broadcasting accolades throughout his career, including an Emmy, a Golden Mike, and an Edward R. Murrow Award.
In addition to his work on Wheel of Fortune, Thornton is a well-known voice actor whose credits include the computer games Halo and Borderlands and the Disney feature Monsters Inc.
