A bodybuilder who lied to fans about his raw liver diet and admitted to taking drugs is being sued for $25 million. Brian Johnson, 45, calls his diet of raw animal liver, bone marrow, and blood injections the secret to his chiseled figure, and the name “Liver King” has stuck.
A YouTube video posted by an adversarial bodybuilder and fitness teacher exposed Johnson’s claims, showing that the organ eater was really doping with steroids to the tune of $11,000 every month to achieve his imposing physique. Following the exposure, Johnson revealed that not only were the steroid allegations real but that he still takes a little quantity of testosterone once a week.
According to a story in the New York Post, a man named Christopher Altomare from New York has filed a lawsuit against Johnson and his firms Ancestral Supplements, LLC and The Fittest Ever, LLC. In the $25 million lawsuit, Altomare says that Johnson misrepresented the safety of his goods and advocated a “dangerous and life-threatening diet,” both of which led to “severe” food poisoning among Altomare’s consumers.
Eat Tenet is one of Johnson’s “Nine Ancestral Tenets” that advocates a diet that includes raw organ meats such as liver, spleen, heart, kidney, pancreas, and testicles. That he “consistently” went shirtless to “showcase his strong body” and “portray [him]self as the epitome of health” was an allegation made in the complaint. However, followers needed to buy his supplements if they wanted to keep up the routine.
According to the complaint obtained by the Post, “Liver King persuaded millions of consumers to adhere to, or abide by, the Eat Tenet by repeatedly making representations to consumers that his near-perfect physique, and optimal health, were solely attributable to his adoption of the Ancestral Tenets, predominantly the Eat Tenet.” “Yes, I’ve done steroids. And yes, I’m on steroids,” Johnson revealed in a Dec. 1 video.
Altomare is now saying that if he and others had known about Johnson’s steroid usage, they never would have bought any of his items. However, Johnson insists that his enterprises are doing well despite his discipline.
“The Liver King brand has had nothing to do with my business success,” he claimed in a video. “My companies were already kicking a–, already successful before the Liver King public figure, growing at 50% year over year and still growing at the same pace after.” Johnson added: “I fully own that I f—– up. All I can do is take extreme ownership right now, be better and lead myself to a better life as a better human.”
