According to reports, Elon Musk apparently had a brief affair with the wife of his longtime friend Sergey Brin, which led the Google co-founder to file for divorce from businesswoman Nicole Shanahan early this year. In December of last year, the 51-year-old CEO and richest man in the world of Tesla allegedly had an affair with Nicole Shanahan, the wife of his wealthy buddy and Google co-founder Sergey Brin. The story claims that their divorce was sparked by the affair as well.
Elon’s relationship with Nicole was the reason Sergey filed for divorce in January claimed by their friends.
The “brief affair,” according to the Wall Street Journal, ruined their close friendship last fall. The alleged affair took place in the same month that Elon welcomed a daughter through surrogacy with his ex-girlfriend Grimes, and one month after he secretly welcomed twins with former Tesla executive Shivon Zilis.
In his divorce proceedings at the time, Sergey referred to “irreconcilable issues.” They live together.

In January, Sergey Brin and Nicole Shanahan filed for divorce, citing their irreconcilable differences. The Wall Street Journal has learned from acquaintances of the couple that Nicole had an affair with Elon Musk in December 2021.
Musk and his ex-girlfriend Grimes had a baby girl through surrogacy in the same month.
Three months prior to beginning his relationship with his present girlfriend Natasha Bassett, he had just given birth to twins with a former CEO. Brin and Shanahan were married for four years and welcomed a daughter in 2018, even though Sergey and his wife were no longer living together at the time she had her affair with the CEO of Tesla.
According to WSJ, Brin’s separation from Nicole Shanahan in January was brought on by the romance. Only a few weeks after Brin discovered the affair, the two reportedly cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of their separation in court documents, the Journal reports.
On the other hand, a person with direct knowledge of the situation, the connection between Brin and Musk has become tense recently, and financial advisors have advised Brin to liquidate his holdings in the Tesla CEO’s many enterprises. In 2008, Brin made a $500,000 investment in Tesla.
Brin and Shanahan were still cohabitating at the time of the affair, which is said to have started in December 2021 during Art Basel in Miami. Brin and Shanahan were having marital issues at the time, which were mostly brought on by tensions related to COVID-19 and taking care of their 3-year-old daughter.
The breakup between Musk and his girlfriend Grimes is also said to have sparked the affair. Grimes and Musk are parents to two kids, one of them is their daughter who was conceived through surrogacy in the same month as the romance.

According to Insider’s Julia Black’s article earlier this month, the billionaire and Shivon Zilis, the director of operations and special projects for one of Musk’s firms, Neuralink, secretly gave birth to twins in November of last year.
