James “Buster” Coley Cause of Death Seems to Be Suicide

James “Buster” Coley, the co-founder of the now-famous adult entertainment chain Dave & Buster’s, has recently died. He was 72.

Police confirmed to TMZ that they went to Coley’s home in Dallas on his birthday, January 2, where they found a man with what looked like a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A representative for the restaurant/arcade chain confirmed Coley’s death to the publication. In 1982, the very first Dave & Buster’s opened in Dallas.

Coley owned a popular restaurant, and his soon-to-be business partner, David Corriveau, ran a popular place for adults to have fun. The two men noticed that their customers often went back and forth between the two places.

They worked together, and Corriveau’s name came first in the brand’s name because he won a coin toss. They now have more than 140 stores. The representative for D&B said that Coley would be remembered as “an innovative and creative force” with a “pioneering spirit.”

They went on to add: “Buster’s passion for hospitality, his demand for excellence, and the deep care he had for his team members were unparalleled. Our hearts go out to his family at this difficult time and while we will miss his wise counsel and his easy laugh, the legacy he and Dave built endures.”

Police are still looking into what happened, and an official cause of death has not been given yet.
