The absence of Sofia Vergara as a judge has been questioned by America’s Got Talent: All-Stars viewers. The first episode of the show, which is also called AGT: All-Stars, aired on January 2 with Terry Crews as the host.
The show is an eight-week battle for the title of ultimate champion and 60 acts from different Got Talent franchises around the world will compete.
Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel are also judges and so is Simon Cowell, who is also the show’s executive producer. The three of them were on the most recent season of America’s Got Talent, along with Vergara from Modern Family, who did not come back for All-Stars.
Even though the judging panel for All-Stars was set in October 2022, viewers were upset that Vergara didn’t show up. They had expected to see usual America’s Got Talent panel back together again.
Why isn’t Sofia Vergara on “AGT: All-Stars”?
Before the premiere of Season 17 of America’s Got Talent, on which Vergara served as a judge, she and the other judges taped the performances for AGT: All-Stars in the summer of 2022.
After replacing Gabrielle Union, who departed the program in November 2019, the actress, who turned 50 in 2022, has been a judge on the NBC talent show since Season 15, which aired in 2020.

So far, she has done well on the show. In September 2022, her Golden Buzzer act, Mayyas, was named the winner of Season 17.
Parade says that Vergara is likely to return for Season 18 of America’s Got Talent, but she wasn’t available for the All-Stars spin-off because she “committed to an acting job.”
On her IMDb page, Vergara’s next project is listed as the Netflix miniseries Griselda, in which she will play the well-known Colombian drug trafficker Griselda Blanco.

The show will also feature Alberto Guerra, Camilo Jiménez Varón, and Vanessa Ferlito. It is currently in post-production, and it is expected to come out in 2023.
Vergara hasn’t said anything about the new AGT show on Instagram or Twitter yet, but fans were quick to ask her where she was during the first episode of AGT: All-Stars because she wasn’t there.

Taking to Twitter, one fan posted: “#AGTAllStars not as good without Sofia.” While another wrote: “Where is Sofia Vergara??? Did I miss something?? #AGTAllStars.”

During the first episode of AGT: All-Stars, two acts earned spots in the final. Light Balance Kids, who first appeared on AGT in 2019, got the first Golden Buzzer of the season after their upbeat performance impressed Mandel, who gave away his Golden Buzzer spot during the episode.

Season 15’s finalists, the Bello Sisters, were then given the second spot in the final after winning the “superfan” vote. Every week on the show, there will be two spots in the final, one from the Golden Buzzer and one from the superfan panel. Each week, the other eight acts that are still left have to go.
