A 23-year-old woman was shot and killed near Bryant-Denny Stadium. Alabama men’s basketball player Darius Miles was one of the people charged with capital murder.
WBRC-TV said that Miles, who was 21, and Michael Lynn Davis, who was 20, were charged in the shooting death of Jamea Jonae Harris, which happened early on Sunday morning a few blocks from the football stadium in Tuscaloosa.
Around 1:45 a.m., police were called to the area, and the driver of a car told officers that the suspects shot at his car and killed Harris, according to the station. The driver told the police that he shot back because he thought he hit one of the suspects.

The station said that one of the suspects had injuries that were not life-threatening. Officials said it seemed like the suspects and the people who were shot had a small argument before the shooting.
Miles was kicked off the men’s basketball team when it came out that he may have been involved in the shooting. Because of an ankle injury, he was ruled out for the rest of the season early on Saturday.
