Authorities say they have caught and charged a teen with killing another teen boy who was at a birthday party in Camden, New Jersey, last month.
A 14-year-old boy from Camden was arrested on Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Dai’meon Allen, who was also 14 and from Lindenwold, New Jersey. Until his court date, he will be held at the Camden County Juvenile Detention Center.
Around 9:30 p.m. on December 3, 2022, someone called 911 to report gunshots in the 1800 block of Mount Ephraim Avenue. Officials said that when they found Allen, he was unconscious and had been shot.

Police said that he was taken to Cooper University Medical Center and pronounced dead at 10:04 p.m. that night. Allen, who was in the ninth grade at Lindenwold High School, was at a birthday party that night at the Elks Lodge on Mt. Ephraim Avenue.
“The Lindenwold School District is both shocked and saddened by the recent passing of one of our students, Dai’meon Allen,” Dr. Kristin P. O’Neil, the superintendent of Lindenwold schools, said in a statement.

“Our hearts and thoughts sincerely go out to his family, friends, and loved ones.” Even though someone has been arrested, police are still looking for more information about Allen’s death.
