The Dan Ryan crash took the lives of two people and left five others in critical condition. In the early hours of Sunday morning, just before 2 a.m., the collision occurred on or near East 47th Street. On Sunday morning, a multi-vehicle accident on the Dan Ryan motorway in the South Side neighborhood left two individuals dead and five others in critical condition.
The incident occurred in the northbound lanes of the motorway at East 51st Street at approximately 1:55 a.m., the Illinois State Police reported. According to Chicago Fire Department spokespersons, two victims were taken to Mercy Hospital but later pronounced dead.
The ages of these people were unknown. Meanwhile, five more people of unknown ages were rushed to hospitals and are reportedly in critical condition, as reported by fire officials. Two were transferred to Stroger Hospital, and three to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Police said that northbound lanes were still stopped close to the incident.
