On the first day of Paris Fashion Week, Doja Cat drew attention to herself by arriving at the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring Summer 2023 show decked up from head to toe in red jewels and cosmetics.
In an Instagram post, the fashion house described the rapper’s breathtaking ensemble, which included-
“Red silk faille bustier,” a “hand-knit skirt of lacquered wooden beads,” and “Trompe l’oeil toe boots,” as “Doja Cat Couture @dojacat in 30 000 @swarovski crystals applied by hand at the @schiaparelli Haute Couture SS23 show held at Petit Palais in Paris.”
Makeup artist Pat McGrath gave a more in-depth look at Doja’s iridescent face, which she said took four hours and 58 minutes to complete.
“The final product was a magical, mesmerizing masterpiece of sparkling brilliance,” and he thanked the Grammy winner for her “sublime patience” along the way.

Models including Naomi Campbell, Shalom Harlow, and Irina Shayk walked the catwalk in high couture dresses inspired by Dante’s Inferno and adorned with oversized animal heads. Kylie Jenner, who had a huge lion’s head sewn into her black frock, was also a front-row spectator. (As stated in each of Schiaparelli’s tweets, “NO ANIMALS WERE HARMED IN MAKING” of these ensembles.)
Doja has been nominated for a total of 10 awards this year and next, including five at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and five at the future 2023 Grammy Awards (where she is up for record of the year for “Woman”). Among such stiff competition, if her song were to win Record of the Year, it would be the shortest tune to do so in almost fifty years.
