Despite the YouTube Death Hoax, Tina Turner is Still Alive

Despite the YouTube Death Hoax, Tina Turner is Still Alive

A YouTube video posted on January 8, 2023, stated that rock and roll legend Tina Turner had died of laryngeal cancer, following the passing of her son Ronnie from colon cancer.

“One month after the death of her son, Rock ‘n’ Roll Queen Tina Turner suddenly passed away (†83).”

The video’s title stated-

In our research, we were unable to find any reliable sources that reported Turner’s death. Because it follows the real death of Turner’s kid in December 2022, this story is an especially disturbing death hoax. Turner has had a rough go of it when it comes to her own health in recent years.

Deceased Stars is the name of the YouTube channel that recently reported on January 24, 2023, that actor Michael J. Fox had passed away.  And on the same day, Fox, who has battled Parkinson’s illness for decades, was out promoting his new documentary.

Below are some links to stories that provide more background on the death hoax:

Unfortunately, this is not the first death fake to circulate about Turner in recent weeks. Posted on Dec. 2, 2022, another YouTube video stated that just

“a few minutes ago … Tina Turner died at her home from a dangerous incurable disease.”

This YouTube channel, called Celeb Disappeared, also shares phony death news about celebrities. An excerpt from the channel’s description reads,

“On this channel, we talk about recently deceased Celebrities about their on-screen lives, their causes of death, and what they are doing to this day.”

Numerous death hoaxes have been covered on our site, including one published shortly after Bruce Willis’s health scare made the news. There was no confirmation of Turner’s death from reputable media outlets, her immediate family, or Turner’s verified social media accounts.

On her official Facebook profile on December 9, 2022, she wrote in memory of her son Ronnie:

“Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son.”

Although Turner has a history of cancer, no evidence suggests that it has spread to her larynx. In addition, the tabloid U.S. Sun reported that Turner’s managers denied the rumours and confirmed that the actress was still very much alive.
