The original web animation “Record of Ragnorak,” or “Shuumatsu no Walküre,” is based on the manga series by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui and illustrated by Ajichika, is the ideal example of anime as a form of both entertainment and art. The Council of Valhalla, a gathering of the gods from many pantheons every 1000 years, decides the destiny of humanity. Until the most recent Valhalla Council, the gods had voted to allow humans to live. But when the gods meet again, they all agree to end humanity because of all the sins it has committed against the world it lives in.
The first of the 13 Valkyrie sisters, Brunhilde, however, stands up and begs the gods to change their minds. She acknowledges that human beings have committed horrifying sins and horrors, but she thinks it would be crass to wipe off all human beings. She then advises holding a competition between humans and their creators to determine whether or not mortal creatures deserve to exist for an additional 1,000 years.
She uses their conceit and arrogance to persuade the gods to accept her proposition. The head of the Council, Zeus, buys it on behalf of all the gods and orders the Valkyrie to track down the 13 competitors who will compete for humanity in the upcoming competition. Brunhilde delves deeply into human history to create the human vanguard, but she is well aware that no matter who they are, humanity will always fall short of the gods and their heavenly weapons.
Therefore, she intends to combine the human warriors with the Valkyries, transforming the latter into weapons equal to those wielded by the gods. Thor, the Norse god of thunder, and Lu Bu, the fabled Flying General from China’s Three Kingdoms period, square off in the opening battle.
Zeus and Adam, the First Man and the ancestor of all humanity square off in the tournament’s second encounter. The Greek sea deity Poseidon and Kojirou Sasaki, skilled Japanese sworders from the Azuchi-Momoyama and early Edo periods, square off in the third duel. Kojirou overcomes Poseidon in the season 1 finale, winning humanity’s first game in the competition.

Record of Ragnarok Season 1 Ending Explained
The score is 2-1 in favor of the gods after the first season. Thor defeats Lu Bu by using Mjölnir to destroy his opponent’s upper body. Zeus decides to compete in match 2 when the conclusion of match 1 is reached. Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, is expected to compete in that round. Zeus pressures Shiva to give up her status to him.
Shiva eventually consents, but only if Zeus owes him a favor. In the second bout, Adam demonstrates that he can hold his own against even Zeus, who is undoubtedly the most powerful of all the gods. In the end, Zeus defeats Adam through perseverance by taking on his final form, the Adamas.
Following the third match and Poseidon’s demise, Zeus once more coerces Shiva into giving up his seat in the competition to a different Greek god, this time Hercules. What Is Ragnarok?
Ragnarök, often known as Ragnarok, is the Norse mythological term for the transition between the old and the new. During this catastrophic occurrence, the majority of the Norse gods, including Odin, Thor, Heimdallr, and Loki, perish. Ragnarok is a contest between men and gods in the anime.

The fourth human warrior, Jack the Ripper, requests that the Valhalla arena be altered to look like Victorian London in the post-credits sequence. Hercules, the Greek hero who attained godhood, is his divine rival. After Kojirou won the third bout, Brunhilde knew they must maintain their winning streak.
Loki understands that Brunhilde is willing to use deceit to ensure victory for humanity. She then sends Jack the Ripper, possibly the most despicable person in history, to battle the noblest and brave of all gods because she believes that Jack is the only one of her fighters who stands a chance against Hercules.
What is Völundr?
In Norse mythology, Völundr, also known as Wayland the Smith, is a celebrated blacksmith who appears in the Poetic Edda poem “Völundarkvia.” To even the playing field against their divine adversaries, the Valkyries in the anime create the Völundr contract with the combatants.

The Valkyries lead human warriors’ spirits to Valhalla so they might join the gods’ armies as soldiers. However, there is a legend that the Valkyries link with their chosen people and prepare them for Ragnarok, as Zeus muses. The Valkyries also perish when their human companions pass away during Ragnarok because of the vow. With Lu Bu and Adam, respectively, Randgriz and Reginleif pass away.
