The death of Annie Wersching, an actress featured in such shows as 24 and Star Trek: Picard as well as Bosch and Timeless, has been confirmed by PEOPLE. She was 45.
Wersching was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, according to Deadline. It was not made clear what kind of cancer it was. When asked for a comment, her rep said he had “nothing further to share” than what Deadline had already said.
The actress’ husband Stephen Full told –
“There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for the adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall.”
Full’s statement continued:
“As I drove our boys, the true loves of her life, down the winding driveway and street, she would yell BYE! until we were out of earshot and into the world. I can still hear it ringing. Bye, my Buddie. ‘I love you, little family…'”
Wersching, who grew up in St. Louis and is a mother of three, got her start in movies and TV shows like Bruce Almighty, Star Trek: Enterprise, Charmed, and Supernatural. Eventually, she got a recurring role as Renee Walker in the TV show 24.

She was on 24 for two seasons and then went on to play many other roles on TV, including the main character Julia Brasher in the Amazon Studios show Bosch. Wersching did voice work and motion capture for the PlayStation classic The Last of Us in 2013.
The Last of Us is now a hit HBO show with the same name. She also played the Borg Queen on Star Trek: Picard not too long ago. Her co-star on the show “Timeless,” Abigail Spencer, wrote a beautiful but sad Instagram post about her friend.

Neil Druckmann, who is co-president of Naughty Dog, the company that made the game The Last of Us, paid his own tribute to Wersching on Twitter.
“Just found out my dear friend, Annie Wersching, passed away”
– he wrote.
“We just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is shattered. Thoughts are with her loved ones.”
At the end of his speech, Druckmann gave a link to a GoFundMe page set up to help Wersching’s family. Wersching is a “private person by nature,” according to the fundraiser’s organizer, Ever Carradine.
The fact that she was diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 2020 only made her more private. The description says that the goal of the fundraiser is to help Full take care of their three kids, Freddie, 12, Ozzie, 9, and Archie, 4, without having to worry about having to work.
“She wanted to protect her boys. She wanted to get better so she could continue working. And honestly, she just didn’t really want to talk about it. She wanted to live her life, on her terms, and be with her family,” reads the fundraiser description.
