Freeridge takes place in the same LA area as the original, but this time around a whole new group of characters gets to experience all sorts of extraordinary things. It’s no secret that viewers of the original On My Block series are dying to get their hands on the Freeridge spin-off as soon as it’s available, but when will this be and what can they hope to see?
Freeridge Release Date and Time on Netflix
Thursday, February 2, 2023, at midnight Pacific Time, Netflix will debut Freeridge, an On My Block spin-off. The series, like most new additions to Netflix, will debut simultaneously in all Netflix regions, which means, for viewers in different time zones:
- 12am PT in the US
- 3 am ET in the US
- 8 am GMT in the UK
- 9 am CET in Europe
- 1:30 pm IST in India
- 7 pm AEDT in Sydney, Australia
Freeridge Plot Preview
The new spin-off series is set in the Freeridge neighborhood, similar to On My Block, and follows the antics of Gloria and Ines, who are competing siblings, and their pals Demi and Cameron. However, this new series takes a spooky turn when the four protagonists purchase a mysterious box they fear has unleashed a dreadful curse on them, bringing a cloud of doom into their lives.

How Many Episodes are in Season 1?
Freeridge’s first season will have eight episodes. Each of the eight episodes will probably run about 30 minutes, giving viewers about four hours of material to explore. In addition, all of the episodes will be made available at once in a binge-friendly package, so viewers won’t have to wait for a part 2 as they have with a lot of Netflix shows recently.
Netflix has not yet commented on whether or not Freeridge will return for a second season. It is not shocking given that the streaming provider likely considered viewership numbers while making this decision. The fact that the original On My Block aired for four seasons bodes well for the new Freeridge spin-off, yet given Netflix’s track record of canceling shows, one never knows.
