Babyface was born to Marvin and Barbara Edmonds in Indianapolis, Indiana, on April 10, 1958. The fifth son of his parents’ six sons, he. At a pharmaceutical factory, Barbara worked as a production operator. In the seventh grade, Edmonds’ father passed away from lung cancer.
