Six months after the actor issued an apology for a spate of scandals, Ezra Miller plays the lead in the just-released teaser for The Flash. However, Michael Keaton’s entrance as Batman stole the event and went viral on social media.
Warner Bros. presented the trailer, which has Miller, 30, playing the role of lightning-quick Barry Allen, or the Flash, in a stand-alone movie based on the DC superhero, during Sunday’s Super Bowl. Miller previously performed the role in the films Justice League (2017) and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
“When Barry uses his talents to go back in time and alter the course of the past in The Flash, two worlds meet. But Barry finds himself stranded in a reality where General Zod has made a comeback and is threatening annihilation after his attempt to save his family unintentionally changes the future “It says in a press release.
Continuing, “Unless Barry can convince a very different Batman to come out of retirement and free a Kryptonian who has been imprisoned—though not the one he is seeking for. Barry’s only option is to run for his life if he wants to save the planet he is currently on and gets back to the future he is familiar with.”
The time-warping trailer promises Keaton and Ben Affleck’s comebacks as respective Batmen. Andy Muschietti, the director of the slasher films Mama (2013), It (2017), and It Chapter Two, is behind the camera for The Flash (2019).
Miller, who uses the pronouns they/them, expressed regret for their disturbing actions in August. Miller said in a statement at the time, “Having recently gone through a moment of intense distress, I now understand that I am suffering from complicated mental health difficulties and have started continuing treatment.”

Then, in January, Miller entered a plea of guilty to a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass for an event that occurred in Stamford, Vermont, on May 1, 2022. As a result of the actor’s one-year probation, the felony burglary and petit larceny charges were dropped without prejudice, and the case is now concluded.
“Ezra would like to thank the court and the community for their trust and patience throughout this process,” said Miller’s attorney Lisa Shelkrot in a statement at the time. “And would once again like to acknowledge the love and support they have received from their family and friends, who continue to be a vital presence in their ongoing mental health.”
The Flash “is undoubtedly one of the greatest superhero movies ever created,” according to Guardians of the Galaxy director and new co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn. He continued by saying that the movie’s plot “resets everything” for the franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran stated on Miller’s future with the franchise during the same news conference, “Ezra is wholly dedicated to their healing. We have their current adventure completely in our support.
We will all determine the best course of action whenever the moment is appropriate and they are prepared to have that conversation.” “However, they are entirely focused on their recovery right now, he continued.
