According to reports on Tuesday that cited “people familiar with the situation” Louis Vuitton is in discussions to appoint American musician and entrepreneur Pharrell Williams as artistic director of its menswear division.
A representative for Louis Vuitton’s parent company, LVMH Mot Hennessy Louis Vuitton, declined to comment on the rumors. Williams’ spokesman could not be reached right away.
The Wall Street Journal and Le Figaro were the publications to first mention Williams. Since Virgil Abloh’s unexpected death in November 2021, the post has been vacant, feeding the industry rumor mill.

Colm Dillane, the creator of KidSuper, was hired by the house in January as a guest designer for autumn 2023, which sparked rumors that he would be given the job full-time.
