Forbes just released a list of the top 10 celebrities in the world by salary for 2022. The only female artist on the list is Taylor Swift, who is joined by the Rolling Stones, Genesis, Bad Bunny (Net Worth), and Sting as solo artists.
The dynamic duos behind “The Simpsons” and “South Park,” as well as other filmmakers and TV producers, are included in the category of high earners.
About $1.35 billion was earned by the top earners in 2022, which is just half as much as the list from the previous year, which included entertainers like Kanye West, Jay-Z (Net Worth), and Bruce Springsteen.
Bad Bunny ($88 million)
The tickets for the Puerto Rican rapper’s two concerts, El ltimo Tour del Mundo and the World’s Hottest Tour, were sold for more than $400 million. Additionally, the “Bullet Train” actor signed endorsement contracts with companies including Corona, Cheetos, and Adidas.
Taylor Swift ($92 million)
The majority of the country-pop superstar’s $92 million comes from her back catalog of songs published in previous years, despite the success of her “Midnights” album, which made her the first artist in history to simultaneously land in the Top 10 slots of the Billboard Hot 100 list. Swift, who topped the list in 2019 and has appeared on the highest-earners list six times before, is the only female on the list.
James Cameron ($95 million)
“Avatar: The Way of Water” brought in at least $95 million for the director. After directing “Titanic” in 1997 and “Avatar” in 2009, Cameron is one of the highest-grossing directors of all time.
The Rolling Stones ($98 million)
The Rolling Stones’ Sixty tour, which included 15 locations across Europe, brought in more than $8.5 million per night for Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
Brad Pitt ($100 million)
The Oscar winner appeared in movies like “Bullet Train,” “Babylon,” and “The Lost City” in 2022. In addition, he received around $113 million in fees from a December transaction in which he sold Mediawan the bulk of his production firm, Plan B Entertainment.
James L. Brooks and Matt Groening ($105 million)
Over $100 million was made last year by “The Simpsons” creators, a popular animated sitcom. Since the sitcom’s 1989 debut, more than 700 episodes have been made. All of the show’s seasons migrated from FX to Disney+ in 2019, netting the duo a previously unknown $105 million yearly, per Forbes.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone ($160 million)
A 2021 contract the “South Park” creators inked with Paramount+ netted them $160 million. Over six years, the exclusivity agreement will pay them $935 million. 14 unique “South Park” films were produced by Parker and Stone for the streaming service as a result of their partnership.
Tyler Perry ($175 million)
Due to his Atlanta backlot sets and the several productions he produced for BET, the multi-hyphenate actor, writer, director, and producer was swimming in green. The richest celebrity on the list is Perry, who is thought to be worth $1 billion.
Sting ($210 million)
In 2022, the singer and his band the Police sold their music library to Universal Music Group, along with his solo discography. Before fees, the frontman received $300 million from the deal.
