Duke’s basketball team quietly made it into the Top 5 for a five-star prospect. Since Naas Cunningham chose to finish his high school basketball career with Overtime Elite instead of Duke, there hasn’t been much news about him.
Cunningham was the first player at Overtime Elite to get a scholarship instead of a salary so he could stay in college. This brought him one step closer to finding his next home.
The five-star prospect for the Class of 2024 told On3 that his top five schools are Duke, Memphis, Rutgers, Kansas, and UCLA.
Before he moved to Roselle Catholic, Naas Cunningham went to Gill St. Bernard’s (NJ), wherein in 2023 Duke commits Mackenzie Mgbako went to school (NJ).
The 247Sports Composite Rankings list Cunningham as the No. 3 player in the Class of 2024 and the best player at his position. He is listed as a 6-foot-7 small forward.

If the West Orange, New Jersey native still played high school basketball in his home state, he would also be ranked as the best player in the Garden State, ahead of Duke priority recruit Dylan Harper.
On 3, Naas Cunningham has already taken unofficial trips to Duke, Rutgers, and UCLA. Next week, he will take another unofficial trip to Memphis.
Duke basketball hoping for big news in the Class of 2024
Four-star small forward Darren Harris has already committed to Duke for the Class of 2024, and Dylan Harper is still the Blue Devils’ top recruiting target, no matter what class he is in.
Jon Scheyer, the head coach of the Blue Devils, and Jai Lucas, an assistant coach, went to New Jersey on Tuesday night to watch Harper.
Harper told On3 in August that he and Naas Cunningham have talked about playing together in college, but neither is ready to make those plans official yet. However, both prospects have Duke, Rutgers, and Kansas in their Top-5.
Even though Naas Cunningham announced his five finalists, he told On3 that he is not even close to making a choice.
