Harry Styles Drinks From Shoe At The Perth Concert : ‘I Feel Like A Different Person’

Harry Styles is experimenting. The 29-year-old singer began the Australia and New Zealand leg of his Love On Tour on Monday by participating in an Australian custom while performing on stage. He took off one of his green Adidas sneakers, filled it with liquid, and chugged it in front of a raucous audience.

The Sydney Morning Herald defines the practice, known to Australians as a “shoey,” as “drinking from a shoe.” The wet shoe is then kept on for the remainder of the evening, claims The New York Times.

Many famous people have reportedly participated in the practice while traveling to Australia, including Machine Gun Kelly, Gerard Butler, and Luke Bryan, according to the Times.

He made light of Styles’ shoey and said “I feel like a different person,” she exclaimed, adding, “I’ll be talking about this with my therapist in great detail. I feel guilty about myself. It seems very intimate. Sharing such a private moment with so many people.”

The Grammy winner’s most recent performance follows a 42-date, sold-out run in the US that started in 2021.

He openly discussed the duration of his career, which began in 2010 with the formation of One Direction on The X Factor, during his acceptance speech for British artist of the year at the BRIT Awards.

I’m really, really grateful for this, he said, and I’m very conscious of my privilege being up here tonight. Styles received harsh criticism for declaring, “This doesn’t happen to someone like me very often,” after receiving the Grammy for album of the year.
