Royal Rejection: Top Artists Decline King Charles III’s Coronation Performance!

It has been claimed that a number of famous musicians, including Harry Styles, Elton John, the Spice Girls, and others, have turned down offers to perform during King Charles III’s coronation in May.

An article in Marie Claire said that Adele and Ed Sheeran were the first performers to decline the King’s invitation, and other articles claimed that John, Styles, and the Spice Girls also declined.

The coronation concert was scheduled for May 7, however, the later three acts apparently declined to owe to prior commitments. It seemed very certain that Victoria Beckham, Mel C, Mel B, Geri Horner, and Emma Bunton would return for the special performance, but they finally decided not to.

Although John is wrapping up his Farewell Yellow Brick Road The Final Tour, Styles is now on his worldwide Love On Tour. Robbie Williams has reportedly declined an invitation to perform at the concert alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber, Kylie and Dannii Minogue, and Lionel Richie, who are still scheduled as the evening’s headliners.

Coronation concert “organizers are working against the time to gather together a spectacular roster but have faced a series of hurdles,” a source told The Sun.

Elton John was at the top of Charles’s wish list, but he can’t make the run to the U.K. work because of his European tour, which has him performing in Germany the Friday before, and again soon after, the Windsor event. Meanwhile, current heartthrob Harry Styles is too busy touring to reunite his bandmates before they take some well-deserved time off.
