Republican Senator Mike Lee reported Wednesday, March 1, 2023, that his personal Twitter account had been suspended without warning. In Wednesday afternoon, Lee Tweeted from his congressional account, “My personal Twitter account – @BasedMikeLee – has been suspended.

He said, “Twitter did not alert me ahead of time, nor have they yet offered an explanation for the suspension. My team and I are seeking answers”.

Within an hour of Mike Lee’s reinstatement, Musk addressed the situation in a humorous tweet and said it was only a mistake. Musk wrote, “His personal account (@BasedMikeLee) was incorrectly flagged as impersonation, which is not totally crazy”.

Eventually, Lee’s individual account was restored. He thanked the world’s richest man and proceeded to use a string of Gen-Z lingo to express his joy. Lee Tweeted, “No cap! Bussin’—forreal, forreal. Thanks, @elonmusk. Time for this classic to make an appearance”.

He attached his Tweet by providing a photo of himself with pixelated sunglasses, a popular internet meme. Elon Musk has confirmed that the suspension of Mike Lee’s Twitter account was only a mistake.
