With 13 performances that include a unique Pink Floyd tribute set, Gov’t Mule will commemorate the 50th anniversary of The Dark Side of the Moon. Twelve additional summer tour dates have been added by the band. They will be followed by the spring tour that was already scheduled and will have Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening as support.
In Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on Halloween of 2008, Gov’t Mule presented Dark Side of the Mule for the first time. 2014 saw the live album of the concert, which had been recorded, and published. Years later, the group performed their ten-time tribute to Pink Floyd once more. In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the legendary album, Gov’t Mule will now pay one final visit to The Dark Side of the Moon.
Frontman Warren Haynes recalled how the band’s initial Halloween performance seemed to come naturally. “Ever since, Dark Side of the Mule has evolved into something new. Although it’s a blast to perform this material, we plan to do it for one last tour to honor Dark Side’s 50th anniversary. Avoid missing it!
Beginning on July 22 in Atlantic City, the Dark Side of the Mule Tour will officially begin. On July 23, the Great South Bay Music Festival in Patchogue, New York, will host the tour. On August 3, the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana, will host the tour.
