Counter-Strike: Global Offensive fans have been talking about the next version for years, but there have been no updates until now. Richard Lewis, a journalist who covers esports, says that Valve is finally moving towards the Source 2 engine and that the game could be moved to it as soon as this month.
Even though it still has a big fan base, it’s hard to believe that CS:GO is over a decade old and has already reached its peak, so it needs a new update.
Lewis says that his anonymous sources told him that “indeed there was a new version of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on its way and that had been worked on for some time.” And, the new version of the game “almost certainly set to be released under the working title Counter-Strike 2 and the tentative release date for the beta is in this month of March with April 1st at the outside.”

Don’t Let This Game Slip Through Your Fingers:
Lewis also says that a group of professional players who were not named were secretly flown to Valve’s headquarters in Seattle to see the game before it came out. And moving the game to the Source 2 engine should make the game run better and have better graphics.
Sources close to Lewis have also confirmed that the game will get new 128 tick servers instead of 64 tick servers to improve latency and matchmaking.
It’s still not clear if any changes to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will lead to a whole new working title for the game, like Counter-Strike 2, or if it will just be rebranded, like Dota 2.
